At GBST, we recognise our responsibility within a broader ecosystem and are committed to responsible business practices, minimising our environmental impact, supporting our people and communities, and maintaining strong governance practices.

Our approach

Our approach focuses on:

  • Commitment to our customers and business
  • Environmental responsibility
  • Social responsibility

Commitment to our customers and business

We operate in a highly regulated and complex environment. We are committed to building long-term, trusted relationships by delivering services with integrity, transparency, and accountability.

Data protection and cybersecurity

We prioritise strong data protection and privacy practices, supported by our ISO 27001 certification, SOC2 Type II certification, and compliance with applicable cybersecurity and privacy regulations across all jurisdictions in which we operate.

Ethical business practices

We maintain the highest standards of integrity in every aspect of our operations, with zero tolerance for bribery, fraud, corruption, or modern slavery.

Regulatory alignment and compliance

We comply with all relevant laws and regulations and work closely with our customers to ensure our practices not only meet, but support, their compliance obligations.

Quality and continuous improvement

Our ISO 9001 certified quality framework underpins our commitment to delivering reliable, high-quality products and services. We actively engage with clients and continuously improve based on feedback and performance outcomes.

Operational resilience and continuity

We prioritise business continuity to ensure uninterrupted service to our customers. Our Business Continuity Plan is regularly reviewed and tested, supported by secure infrastructure, system redundancy, disaster recovery capabilities, and cross-trained teams.

Environmental responsibility

GBST is committed to minimising its environmental impact through responsible business practices. GBST's core business activities have a relatively low environmental impact, with the highest carbon emissions coming from travel and software services. Nevertheless, we recognise our responsibility to minimise our carbon footprint and are committed to tracking greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions and reducing carbon emissions. We conduct independently verified GHG emission assessments in accordance with the GHG Protocol and report on our Scope 1, 2 and 3 GHG emissions annually.

Our emissions profile

For the period ending 30 June 2026:

  • Scope 1: 0 tCO₂e
  • Scope 2: 111.3 tCO₂e
  • Scope 3: 1,577.4 tCO₂e

Commitments and targets

GBST is committed to reducing its carbon footprint over time through:

  • Developing a formal emissions reduction plan
  • Working towards a Net Zero strategy and target that is achievable to our business operations
  • Improving data quality and supplier engagement for Scope 3 emissions
  • Reducing emissions from energy use, business travel, and technology infrastructure

Social responsibility

We recognise our responsibility to create a positive impact for our people, communities, and broader society. Our approach to social responsibility focuses on building a safe, inclusive and ethical workplace.

Inclusive and respectful workplace

We foster a workplace free from discrimination, harassment, and bullying, underpinned by clear policies and a strong culture of respect. We provide a safe and supportive working environment for all employees through robust Work Health and Safety practices, training programs, and wellbeing initiatives.

Human rights and ethical supply chains

We uphold human rights across our operations and supply chain, maintaining zero tolerance for modern slavery, human trafficking, and unethical practices, and we conduct due diligence to ensure our partners align with these standards. See GBST’s Modern Slavery Policy and Modern Slavery Statement.

Flexible and supportive working environment

We offer flexible work arrangements, hybrid working, and employee support programs, including wellbeing initiatives and policies that support diverse personal and cultural needs. We offer an additional annual leave day, ‘GBST&U Day,’ for personal wellbeing.

Community engagement

We’re committed to supporting the communities where we work, through corporate sponsorships, employee volunteering, or charitable participation. We regularly support Ability First’s Annual Charity Golf Day, either through sponsorship or by entering a team, with proceeds going to Ability First Australia.
